Rebecca Nichloson (she/her) is CEO & Lead Consultant on RUMINATION GARDEN projects. She has 15+ years of creative and executive-level leadership experience; including in organizational consulting, operations and communications strategy, project development and program leadership; as well as expertise in narrative and culture change, human-centered design, and cultural advocacy.

Rebecca has served as Director of Communications at the Center for Cultural Power, Director of Communications at the African American Leadership Forum, and led digital communications at Panorama Global and other national organizations that advance social change. She has worked in the civic tech sector; developing comms plans and content for initiatives centered on tech for public good, including leading communications for a civic tech nonprofit in support of a premier New York civic tech competition that has produced 500+ tech innovations and $10 million dollars in seed funding toward solutions that empower NYC communities.

Rebecca has also written, edited, and developed content (digital & print) for Earl G. Graves LTD — a multimedia company and publisher of Black Enterprise, a premier business & wealth-building magazine with readership of over 2 million (centering entertainment, career development, health, technology, and education). Moreover, she’s worked at The National Center for Disaster Preparedness, Columbia Journalism School, Miller Theatre, and Community Impact.

She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Playwriting from Columbia University and an M.A. in English Literature. She also studied publishing at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
